The Least Talked About Home Fire Hazard

You were taught "Stop, Drop & Roll" in kindergarten. You have heard the PSAs to change smoke detector batteries for Daylight Saving Time. Then there are the warnings about candles, curling irons, fireplaces, stoves, etc. These are all very important home safety tips.

One home fire hazard is given very little attention though - dryer fires. There are over 15,000 dryer fires annually. Even if you clean your lint filter after every load, lint buildup happens over time INSIDE your dryer and in your venting system. Dryer lint is very flammable. 

Our founder, Tom Asciolla, has personally repaired thousands of dryers over 30 years. He saw the need for an early detection alarm for decreased airflow and overheating since many people do not have their dryers and dryer vents serviced as often as they should.

Ask around - while most people empty their lint filters after every load - most do not clean their lint filters monthly with soapy water. And only a small percentage have their dryers and vents cleaned every two years. Most people we asked admitted they have never had that done - even after 5, 10 or 15 years!
